Jury to deliberate in case of paramedics charged in McClain death

Jurors will begin deliberating in the nearly month-long criminal trial involving two Colorado paramedics who injected a patient with ketamine before he died in 2019.  Jeremy Cooper and Pete Cichuniec each pleaded not guilty to criminally negligent homicide, manslaughter, and assault charges.  The two men were working as medics for Aurora Fire Rescue when they made the decision to sedate Elijah McClain, 23, with the powerful sedative in August 2019.   At the time, they told investigators they believed McClain was exhibiting signs and symptoms of “excited delirium,” a controversial term  — used to describe someone who is mentally dissociated, or unable to control their body — that has since been rejected by many medical professionals as a legitimate medical diagnosis. Kendall Auto Group to open commercial service center in Meridian

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Kendall Auto Group broke ground on a 102,000 square foot Commercial Vehicle Service and Accessory Center at the corner of Overland Road and North Linder Ave in Meridian, according to a recent news release. The 20-acre vehicle service center will serve both commercial vehicles and retail customers. The new remote service vans will also be dispatched out of this location. Three-Vehicle crash blocking State Highway 55

Smiths Ferry, ID (CBS2) — Idaho State Police are working on a crash involving three vehicles on Highway 55 near Smiths Ferry. ISP says the accident involves a car, a semi-truck carrying sand, and a pickup truck towing a boat. According to ISP the semi-truck rolled and is partially hanging off the embankment. The driver of the pickup truck has been airlifted to a hospital for treatment. Highway 55 is completely blocked and will remain closed for the next 2-3 hours. [Read More]
